Tweet deck and more organizing of some business details

A few weeks ago I organized my social or more like the way I want to think of it 'my business' media. I signed on to tweetdeck. There I can post to twitter, face book and linkedin at one time. Also MySpace if you have that account.

Another thing I did was to coordinate my email,user name and passwords for all the accounts. As I registered over time I used different words some only a letter or number different...not a good idea. You know how some places do not require numbers and some do...well now I have gone to always using my numbers. Is that TMI?

Once you are registered to link your accounts.Set it up to have a slim column up as you work of not. I use that one I don't mind the ditractions as I read it as it posts and tend to comment more when I keep it up. One of the first things I did was turn off the notification of new tweets alert as it was sending me off my chair!

Oh and I loaded the Android feature on my phone. Since I have done all this I am able to find interesting things to read related to my interests while at appointments and such. My plan is to get more familiar with how others use these networks and through in my hat once in a while.

marketing thoughts

Do you face book and twitter? If so what about? I am not one to tell ya' what am eating but more what I am doing. I guess I want to see how other artist live and fit day to day life in to their art or the art into their day to day. I guess because that is my day to day challenge.

For me art is not an option it is part of who I am and at times can be my driving force of the day/week/month. But I am a mom,a wife, daughter and friend as well. Just some days I am better at one than the other. Not usually all in one day.

Today though I had my business hat on and signed up on face book with my business name. This way I have 'claimed' the name while I continue to resurrect and expand my business. (though I need to create the page yet, I feel I have a start.)

Are you thinking ahead? Planning for the future of your passion may take you?

Consider some simple actions you can take:

1.sign up your business name/s on Face book,Twitter, My Space etc.

2. Claim your busines name on on line shops such as Etsy.

3. Place your business/studio on Google Maps

4.Add your business or studio to Yahoo maps

5. Add a feed reader option to your blog and web for readers to keep up with you.(look in your gadagets with your blog)

6. Use Ping o matic and Pingoat each time you write a new post. these services sends to many others to let the blog world to stop by.

In this fast past electonic age I hope one of thess help you in some way.Gets you thinking beyond what you are currently doing.

A Marketing Monday

Spend most of my DAY(and into the evening) working on some Marketing on Monday As you might of seen in my earlier post, I have been invited to collaborate in a presentation with the author of a book I illustrated. So I am starting to put the word out. Though this is not an event to specifically generate money from sales of art for me or anything,I think it will be fun. I am trying my hand at using some of the on line marketing tools.
I am new to Face Book and started there today by creating an event. It is easy to share this with other face book friends. I only tested on a few friends to see what it looked like on the receiving end. I plan researching some other groups or people in my area to invite as well. I am thinking genealogy groups, writers and writers groups. Maybe some graphic design firms. anybody in the area who might need art for a project. I will let you know how this research goes. I am a little lost at how to start...
