EDM #235 Draw a Butterfly

Starting with watercolors then adding the depth with watercolor pencils.I did this little Eastern Skipper in my " Handbook Journal". I really like that little book and the paper. A Sachem Female nectaring on a zinnia is the most widespread colonizing eastern skipper. Most years it can be found in much of the gardens and fields through out the United States.

Fantastic bright colors, and nice touch using watercolor pencils too. I miss colors now, I've been doing graphite pencil sketches for months now, maybe it's time for me to get back into colors ^^ but thank you, it's been an inspiration!

Thanks everyone! Alex-know what you meanI mainly work in ink and it was a refreshing change. Also color seems to spark to more people for some reason.maybe it is that i feel I 'should' work in color... Yet i still love black/white, sepia type work.
Do what you love though as they say!
