Making marks and Music

A few sketches while listening to a band in our 'town square' on a summers evening. The kids found some other kids to through a ball around with and Tom and I sat back and enjoyed the music and sites of people.

On the way back to the car my daughter ssid she wanted to learn to olay the drums...after i am done with guitar of course. (she just started guitar this summer,piano for 3 years...words from babes i tell ya)

While taking a break from my Penn's Colony Festival projectrs, I came across some photos I took of an outing when my 11 year old was 4. We visited a rescue farm and I couldn't resist these wonderful roosters. My scanner was not quite big enough to catch the entire page.below see the entire black one.

EDM challenges #197 draw a remote and EDM # I can't find now...draw a drawing instrument.When I sit down to draw an EDM challenge I tend to look at the list and see what around me, that would fit into the list. Well, this really just doesn't work to well as i don't always right the number down and when I go back to tag it...I look the lost over two and three times...this time still not seeing one. Was it really there. Yeah you think I would right the number down when I start the sketch...nope don't seem to. Just go "Oh there's one", and start sketching away. Gotta get more organized. I like how many EDM sketchers just work down or up the list in order.In general that is not my nature but I strive,dream about being super organized!

I did this Niji watercolor brush, a favorite in my travel box and have grown quite a liking that I find I grab it even when I am working at my desk. There are several sizes if you have not tried any.(I got mine at Michaels where you can use a coupon).
 The page looked stark with just it and well, I hop to the list and had the remote right there so I added it to fill out the page some. I find the varying shades of black quite the challenge as well.Something to keep working on.

Daisy watercolor and ink

Small spot on some of my final pages in my Moleskine. After pencil some of it I went to watercolor. Then only to add ink. I find that if I start with the ink I get heavier-handed than the look I am after. I feel soon these summer daisy are going to slip away when I am not looking.

Poolin' Around

I did while chatting to other moms

 at a   kids   pool party.

Had the kids at another pool. I love to sit and sketch while I watch them swim. Nope, not mush of a IN the water person.

Went to Columbus, OH to see Wicked. This is at the pool where we stayed.
