I just received this email to my delight:

Susan – I just ordered Guardians online – I HOPE IT IS STILL AVAILABLE I MUST HAVE IT!  AND if it isn’t,  someone else if very lucky

A sale is great of course but  in hearing my work has brought someone pleasure and will continue to is hard to put in words. The "must have" just awestruck me. Chocolate a must have (it is a source of nutrition after all) but art is a luxury in the big picture and to have someone feel so strongly in an image I have created, I am honored. The joy it will bring in her home or office ,well it is just what I hope my art will do for others.

Even though while I sit here,temperature outside is feeling like -9, I was inspired by all the snow. It can be so beautiful. I love the color of the sky how it reflects off the snow and bounces around. 

These majestic guardians stand tall keeping watch.

Mail - Art Branching Out.

A little embossing and some book text to get this mail- art started.I sketched this tree with a pigma ink pen and used watercolor pencil and water brush for the color.

Watching the streets

Zach and I came cross this "guy" watching us on the street as we took a walk. Do you see him?

Travel Lines

Again, still spending much time "waiting". I am working on my Christmas shopping etc. and find myself up and down many of the same streets and Highways. I have begun to sketch during these 5 minute light waits. i keep some blank index cards in my console. Route 19 where I do much of my shopping is lined with oak trees. they still have their brown leaves on them and so I start at one intersection on this tree...move through the light and continue down the road and pick up the drawing with another. I tend to pick items I see repeated in the area or in the car.( holiday wreaths,parking meters, lampposts). Yesterday I actually sat through the green light so I could draw a bit more!! (no nobody was behind me...I would of stayed longer but a car did eventually pull up.)

so I add another place I never thought I would draw from.
