Cyanocitta cristata in pen and ink

Whether you love 'em or hate 'em, you have to admit Blue jays are beautiful birds. Whether in the contrast of snow or against any of the other colors of the season at hand. They are intelligent birds and visit most back yards. There can clear a bird feeder in no time with a perfect impersonation of a red tail hawk's call.

Did you know they build a false nest of twigs before the actual nest is built.

On such a blue day for me it was nice to read your positive feedback! Thanks everyone. I also have hopes of trying to scan this and experiment with my photoshop elements 7 to add color. I think that would be so cool too to learn.

I have heard that call and lots of others that they are talented enough to make. They are beautiful creatures and I don't mind them helping themselves to our seeds, even though they are not good at sharing! Your sketch is fantastic.
