Butterfly In the Mist

An old gift card  is used to paint acrylic paint over scrapbook paper on the birchwood panel. The card creates a unique hit & miss of paint.

More stamped pattern. Rolls over the edges as well.

Gel medium is used to attach the butterfly that was cut out of a book page.
Then color is added to the wings.
A bit more patterns painted on and final wash of white across applied, then wiped back to reveal the "Butterfly in the Mist."

"Laugh Untill Your Hear Over flows Tweety"

Laughing is more of what I need. I mean I am thinking about all I have to do. house work-yuk which I find easier these days to leave go till another day. It seems to always be there when we get back. Business stuff, what the kids need. During summer here-What's for lunch? Then the never ending question of what's for dinner? But I don't ask myself what are we going to do today to make us laugh. Make memories before all to soon my kids are out of the house.

This whimsical mixed media little bird in its colorful background is reminding us of just that.

Some of the going ons at Penn's Colony Festival I am in

My sister tending to my booth. she has been a long standing helper and support of mine. it only costs me in food too!The first time I saw this one, the colonial ATM machine! An example of the show always trying to meet the needs of the guests.
Bag pipers in parade. They walk around and play througout the day.

My neighbor 'Sis" and daughter Taylor. this was the first time helping for both of them. they were a real treat to have with me for the day.

All the booths are created by each individual artist or craftsman.

I have been busy all week preparing for this next weekend so stop back as I will be sharing more of the shows artist and activites.

Scetchcrawl

Bone Fish Asian Moose While Taylor did a drawing at the Art Cat table.

Three other ladies and my 6 year old daughter went on another sketch crawl Sat February 28Th . We went to the Carnegie Museum of natural History in Pittsburgh,Pa. After a slow start due to the a fire alarm going off...we headed off to the new dinosaur area.

First page-some noticed she had a butterrfly on her shirt so she started drawing bugs

I found it quite the challenge to keep track of what bone I was on and where I was headed or had been. My daughter didn't seem to have the same trouble.
She cracked open a brand new mini moleskin ans just got started. No hesitation about the new white first page or anything. Just be bopped from this fossil to that. Recording images and names. She worked hard and I had a great time with her there.
