susan walker art: another set of "Houses For Hope" for the Ripple site

another set of "Houses For Hope" for the Ripple site

Houses for Hope Hope 4

I just sent in these to "Houses For Hope"  for on the "Ripple" site to raise money for the animal victims of the Gulf Oil Spill. They will be posted soon.
This "House for Hope 4" was started on an sheet of watercolor paper where I floated in the green/ blue wash. Once dry, I 'built " the house upon the 'rocks' . I ink first and then add watercolor. In some areas while one color is wet I like to add another right in. I like the way one runs up to or into another color. Making each effect unique. If I feel needed I may add a bit mor ink details. I let dry for a couple hours, then laying in a clear water wash around the buildings for the sky, I again lay in a blue, violet or color of my choice for the sky. Again when all is dry I do the same for the foreground.

House for Hope 5 (Sold)

House for Hope 5 was done in a similar manor as #4 but was started directly on a white watercolor paper.Inking first then laying in the color on the buildings and details. Ones dry for an hour or more I added in the blue cloud shape. as it did not touch the 'grass' i worked on it while the cloud dried. Laying in the green and addinf the crimson and sienna while still wet. I returned to the sky when blue cloud was dry and aded in the violet to finish this one up.
Both cards measure 2.3 x3.5 inches

Art for the rescue of the Wildlife effected by the Oil spill in the Gulf.

A few ACEO cards I contributed along with my 8year old daughter to the web site Ripple. Each sketch card on this blog is $10.00. The $10.00 is a donation to help the animal victims of the Deep Water Horizon Gulf Oil Spill. Every penny is donated. The two Non-Profits that are benefiting are The Institute for Marine Mammal Studies and The International Bird Rescue Research Center. The artist will mail you the signed card. Be sure to check out older posts as there are many fabulous pieces still available.

i worked in in and watercolor on watercolor paper for the 'Happy town " pieces, all ink work on the Laughing Gull. Taylor used colored pencil on bristol board.

Tweet deck and more organizing of some business details

A few weeks ago I organized my social or more like the way I want to think of it 'my business' media. I signed on to tweetdeck. There I can post to twitter, face book and linkedin at one time. Also MySpace if you have that account.

Another thing I did was to coordinate my email, user name and passwords for all the accounts. As I registered over time I used different words some only a letter or number different...not a good idea. You know how some places do not require numbers and some do...well now I have gone to always using my numbers. Is that TMI?

Once you are registered to link your accounts.Set it up to have a slim column up as you work of not. I use that one I don't mind the ditractions as I read it as it posts and tend to comment more when I keep it up. One of the first things I did was turn off the notification of new tweets alert as it was sending me off my chair!

Oh and I loaded the Android feature on my phone. Since I have done all this I am able to find interesting things to read related to my interests while at appointments and such. My plan is to get more familiar with how others use these networks and through in my hat once in a while.

Love to hear if you use it and how you like it.
And you can always follow with me!
